I saw, and took a picture of a bird on Bowen Blvd. It was near an open space with tall trees, but at that time, it was sitting next to the street, and seemed to be eating. It was aware that I was there, but sat, unafraid of my presence. I got a couple of very nice pictures. I showed them to my son and he said it was a red tailed hawk. It may be common, but was my first time seeing one that close. It was rather exciting!
